Introducing Solution Capabilities (formerly known as Risk Solutions)
The feedback from our clients and partners has been amazing. We coined Risk Solutions as a Paramify differentiator and now it’s time to rebrand it to how everyone understands them. Legacy “Risk Solutions” are now “Solution Capabilities”.
We've updated the names of two key concepts in our platform:
- Risk Solution (previously known as Solution Parameter): This refers to the specific tool, technology, or process you implement to address and mitigate one or more risk categories within your organization.
For example, if you're tackling Identity and Access Risk (a type of InfoSec risk), you might select Okta Verify as your Risk Solution. This could involve integrating the tool to enforce multi-factor authentication (MFA) across your systems, providing a robust mechanism to handle authentication-related vulnerabilities.
- Solution Capability (previously known as Risk Solution): This represents the individual features or functions enabled by a Risk Solution. In other words, a single Risk Solution (such as a technology or process) can support multiple Solution Capabilities, which deliver targeted outcomes like automated alerts, data analysis, or reporting. These are the building blocks that make the Risk Solution effective.
For example, the previously mentioned Okta Verify Identity Management Risk Solution enables several Solution Capabilities, such as application access, access removal, access privilege, password settings, and MFA. These are the building blocks that make the Risk Solution effectively address risk.
How They Fit Together
A Risk Solution acts as the overarching mechanism—think of it as the "engine"—that powers one or more Solution Capabilities, which are the "gears" providing specific functionalities. This structure allows for greater flexibility: you can deploy a Risk Solution to tackle broad risk areas while customizing its capabilities to meet precise needs. If you've used our platform before, you'll notice that what we once called "Risk Solutions" are now “Solution Capabilities”, leveraging one or more “Risk Solutions” to address Risk.
What do I need to do?
MCP Users: In prompts where you would reference Risk Solutions, now reference the new name ‘Solution Capabilities’.
Everyone else: Nothing! These updates are backward-compatible and won't affect existing configurations, but they should make it easier to navigate and scale your risk management strategies. If you have questions, reach out to our client success team!
